Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the consequences and propose solutions for reducing gender inequality in promotions and appointments within sports organizations. This study employs a qualitative approach using grounded theory, with a statistical population that includes senior managers from the Ministry of Sports, university faculty members, presidents and secretaries of sports federations, and managers of reputable league clubs in the country.

Sampling was conducted using a snowball method through interviews with 31 experts in the field of sports. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, which led to the identification of 101 concepts that were grouped into 18 categories. Ultimately, this process determined two main dimensions: the consequences and solutions for gender inequality.

The findings indicate that gender equality is a complex issue influenced by multiple factors that exacerbate inequality and leave significant negative impacts on organizations, especially in sports organizations. The consequences include organizational backwardness, the inactivity of capable women, and a decrease in their motivation, among others. Proposed solutions derived from the interviews include revising regulations, adopting global models, promoting meritocracy, and training skilled individuals.

Therefore, to achieve gender justice in these organizations, there is a need for fundamental reforms in management and cultural structures. It is recommended that the proposed solutions be utilized as tools to harness all available potentials, which could lead to sustainable and effective development within sports organizations.
